Seeking Potential Victims in Jaime Gonzalez-Farias Investigation

The FBI’s Columbia Division is seeking information regarding potential victims in a federal child sex crimes investigation.

Fr. Jaime Gonzalez-Farias a/k/a “Father Gonzales” a/k/a “Father Jamie” was indicted in October 2022 and arrested in November 2022 for coercion and enticement of a minor, aggravated sexual abuse of a child, and transportation of a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. He is being prosecuted in federal court in South Carolina. The charges are merely allegations, and Gonzalez-Farias is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

Gonzalez-Farias served in various roles with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Charleston (South Carolina) between 2015-2020. He has served in the church in at least Chile and the United States. He held various roles, including pastor, parochial vicar, administrator, chaplain, and priest. He has been ordained as a priest since at least 1990.
