Seeking Victim Information in Tre Von Harris aka “Michelle” Investigation
The FBI’s San Antonio Division Austin Resident Agency is seeking to identify potential victims of a sextortion scheme allegedly carried out by Tre Von Harris, 19, of Austin, Texas. A federal grand jury in Austin, Texas, recently handed up an Indictment charging Harris with two counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children, under 18 U.S.C. § 2251; and one count of Interstate Communication of a Threat/Extortion, under 18 U.S.C. § 875. As described in a criminal complaint previously filed against Harris, Harris allegedly engaged in a sextortion scheme that targeted juvenile males from at least as early as November 2022 until his arrest in May 2024. A criminal complaint and an indictment are merely allegations. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
The FBI’s investigation revealed, and the charges allege, that Harris engaged in a suspected sextortion scheme on various social media platforms in which he posed as a teenaged female named “Michelle,” targeted mostly males under the age of 18, persuaded and enticed them to create self-produced child sexual abuse material, and told them to send the CSAM to “Michelle.” Once the videos were obtained by “Michelle,” Harris would sometimes reach out as himself and tell the victims to do as they are asked, to not upset “Michelle.” “Michelle” would then attempt to reach out and extort the victims for money or threaten to release the videos to individuals on their friends list.
