Seeking Victims in the Snapchat Hacking Investigation

The FBI is seeking to identify potential victims of a Snapchat hacking scheme which focused on compromising Snapchat accounts in order to obtain nude or semi-nude photos of victims from at least July 2020 to March 2023. This Snapchat hacking scheme is believed to have targeted female adults and female minors.

The subject is believed to have used pseudonyms and fake social media handles to contact victims by phone, email, and social media. Victims received text messages from the “Snapchat Support Team” informing them there was suspicious login activity on their Snapchat account. Victims were told to send a six-digit security code they received under a separate notification to secure their account. This six-digit security code was then used to login to the victim’s account and steal sensitive images of the victims.

The subject is believed to have used variations of these pseudonyms and social media handles:

  • Snapchat Support Team
  • Snapchatservices01
  • littledee069
  • x-r8edonly
  • e.mathis06
  • amandapowers212

The FBI has also sent emails to victims believed to be targeted in this scheme. If you have received this email, please fill out the fields below. If you have already been in contact with the FBI Boston Field office, you do not need to fill in the fields below.

If you or your minor dependent(s) have been in contact with any of the above handles or an associated online persona in any of these circumstances, please fill out this short form so the FBI can contact you. All identities of victims will be kept out of the public domain.

If you know of someone else who has been victimized in a manner that seems consistent with the above paragraphs, please encourage them to complete this form.

The FBI is legally mandated to identify victims of federal crimes it investigates. Identified victims may be eligible for certain services and rights under federal and/or state law.

NOTE: Parents and guardians, please submit this form on behalf of anyone under the age of 18.
