Seeking Victim Information in Mark Altherr Investigation

The FBI’s Cincinnati Field Office is seeking to identify potential victims of Mark Altherr, who was recently charged with and arrested for possession and distribution of child pornography after investigators found a significant number of posts he allegedly made online depicting minor victims of sexual exploitation. The victims were between the ages of five and 12. It has been alleged Mark Altherr has been posting images of child pornography since 2021.

During the relevant time periods, Mark Altherr was a fitness education teacher in the Oak Hills Local School District in Cincinnati, Ohio. He may have also taught previously in the Denver, Colorado, area.

Investigators are still investigating allegations of misconduct and criminal violations that may have been committed by Mark Altherr and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying potential victims.
