Seeking Victim Information in Dr. Michael A. Hochman Investigation

The FBI’s San Antonio Division is seeking information in the investigation of Dr. Michael A. Hochman, who was recently indicted on one count of Conspiracy to Commit Health Care Fraud and four counts of Engaging in Monetary Transactions in Property Derived from Specified Unlawful Activity.

Dr. Michael Hochman is a physician licensed to practice medicine in the State of Texas as a specialist in ophthalmology in Laredo, Texas. Dr. Hochman owned and controlled Michael A. Hochman, PA, and the Laredo Laser & Surgery, Ltd., which were professional associations that purported to provide health care services in the State of Texas. It is believed that Dr. Hochman falsely diagnosed patients in order to conduct unnecessary medical procedures to maximize his profits. Dr. Hochman would then submit false and fraudulent claims to health care benefit programs for fraudulent services that did not comply with the health care benefit program requirements for reimbursement.
