Seeking Victim Information in John C. Shores Investigation
On August 10, 2023, 54-year-old John C. Shores of Omaha, Nebraska, was arrested and charged via federal complaint with Attempted Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and Attempted Enticement of a Minor. John C. Shores was an active Boy Scout Scoutmaster and Commissioner for the Mid-America Council for Boy Scouts of America. The FBI Omaha field office and Douglas County Sheriff’s Office are seeking the public's help in identifying potential victims who may have been victimized by John C. Shores.
While it is natural for parents to want to gain a better understanding of the potential exploitation of their child, further questioning of the child may lead to inaccurate statements and increased emotional trauma.
If you have information about this ongoing investigation or believe your child or other children may have been victimized by John C. Shores, the FBI and Douglas County Sheriff’s Office requests you complete the questionnaire below. In addition, please provide two photographs of child(ren) who may have been victimized by John C. Shores to JCSVictims@fbi.gov.
