FBI sUAS TTX - San Diego, California

The FBI invites you to attend a small Unmanned Aerial System (sUAS) Tabletop Training Exercise (TTX) from 8:00 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. on January 31, 2023, at the Law Enforcement Coordination Center at 4181 Ruffin Road, San Diego, CA 92123.

This sUAS-centered TTX will improve coordination and synchronization between the FBI and its federal, Department of Defense, state, and local partners in response to a threat from a UAS that: (1) leverages federal, state, and local laws, and ordinances, (2) identifies lessons learned and best practices, and (3) identifies gaps in UAS response procedures, authorities, and capabilities. Discussion will be limited to Unclassified // For Official Use Only or Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).

Exercise participants will work through notional scenarios involving sUAS incursions over a major airport, over military installations, and during special events. The facilitators will lead the discussion and ask for participation from the represented departments and agencies regarding lines of communication, rendering safe resources, ground interception teams, legal authorities, evidence exploitation, information sharing challenges, and capability gaps.

Invitees can decide to attend the whole day TTX or half day depending on the applicable scenarios for their agency/department.

• 8 a.m.-12 p.m.: Civilian/interagency – San Diego International Airport, Petco Park, and Rock 'n' Roll Marathon
• 1:15 p.m.-4:45 p.m.: Defense Department/interagency – Military installations
