About the Training:
On August 30-31, 2022, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Energy (DOE) Radiological Assistance Program Region 7 (RAP 7) will provide Radiological Search, Detection, Identification, and Response Training at Pebble Beach in Monterey County, CA.

The training will:

  1. Familiarize participants with the FBI's response to a nuclear or radiological Weapons of Mass Destruction event
  2. Provide DOE-led radioactive detection and identification education for first responders and introduce a practical exercise involving the discovery of a radiological dispersal device on Pebble Beach
  3. Provide practical scenarios, build relationships, and create seamless integration during an actual response

  • 08/30/2022 (Day 1): The material covered on this day is intended for both first responders and personnel who work Command Posts or Emergency Operations Centers.
  • 08/31/2022 (Day 2): The material covered on this day is intended for personnel who go down range in response to these types of critical incidents.
