New Orleans FBI/WMD along with Louisiana State Police and InfraGard will be conducting the annual Chemical Industry Outreach Workshop on March 22, 2022.

When: March 22, 2022 8:30 am to 5:00 pm

Where: St Mary EOC, 7327 LA-182, Morgan City, LA

Who Should Attend: Anyone with an interest in the threat posed by improvised explosives and the chemicals used to manufacture them.

Demo Description:

Attendees will be briefed in the morning on the emerging threat posed by improvised explosives. Presentations will cover Weapons of Mass Destruction, Clandestine Drug Labs, and the threat posed by drones and improvised explosives. In addition, the FBI will provide a China Threat Briefing. After lunch, attendees will witness the detonation of a variety of improvised explosives, most of which can be mixed using common household chemicals. This demonstration is designed to underscore the potential danger of these chemicals, both in the hands of terrorists as well as juvenile experimenters.
